♫ Song No. 5 – Vagabond

This week’s song is by a band whose name is the same as my Hometown – Beirut.

In brief, Beirut was originally a solo musical project of  Zach Francis Condon – a Santa Fe native – and later was expanded into the American band that’s well-known nowadays for its Indie-Rock and World music.

The band first performed in New York, in May 2006, in order to aid the release of their first debut album, Gulag Orkestar.

The song you’re going to be listening to is taken from Beirut’s most recent album, The Rip Tide, which was released on August 2, 2011. The album peaked at #80 on the Billboard 200 and has mostly received positive reviews.

Well, I hope you enjoy the song as much I did and still do. (:

Lyrics:

Left the vagabonds
a trail of stones
forward to find my way home

now as the air grows cold
the trees unfolds
and I am lost and not found

and who knows
who knows, who knows, who knows
and who knows
who knows, who knows, who knows

now left the vagabonds
a trail of stones
forward to find my way home

now as the air grows cold
the truth unfolds
and I am lost and not found

now left the vagabonds
a trail of stones
forward to find my way home

now as the air grows cold
the truth unfolds
and I am lost and not found
